Data-driven design is an umbrella term for computational design goals such as geometry rationalization (the process of making objects more constructible) or form-finding (the process of exploring shape suitability).

While rationalization has made possible the complicated, freeform surfaces present in many instances of contemporary architecture, it is equally applicable to more conventional projects that nonetheless still need to be constructed in the most efficient way possible.

BIM One has significant experience working with leading design, construction, and fabrication firms on complex rationalization problems.

We work with clients to develop a criteria for rationalization and to examine the feasibility of various rationalization approaches. By combining our knowledge of geometry and fabrication, we are able to help clients produce buildings that are easier to fabricate, better sequenced for construction, and more efficient overall.
