Vancouver International Airport (YVR): Pier D expansion

The Pier D expansion project is the largest terminal building expansion since the modernization of the airport in 1996 and is a true representation of the beauty of British Columbia.

OVERVIEW

The Pier D - Phase 1 expansion project includes four bridge gates and four retention rooms for processing and loading passengers onto buses to board aircrafts parked on remote platforms. These facilities must be located at Level 3 and Level 2 at the apron level. In addition to passenger facilities and facilities for departures and arrivals, the first phase also creates a new retail and restaurant space, combined with a thematic outdoor garden. The project adds more than 20,000 m2 to the 280,000 m2 complex.

The Pier D - Phase 2 Expansion Project consists of gates, holds, corridors and arrival junctions, bathrooms and commercial developments for four more extended deck aircraft doors.
